The Moorpark Mammoth
Long before humans settled here, the area was home to the southern mammoth. On April 7, 2005, the remarkably well-preserved remains of the prehistoric beast was discovered by construction workers. Named Emma, the remains are between 800,000 and 1.4 million years old.
